The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) of Dr S C Gulhane Prerna College of Commerce, Science, and Arts is established to promote equity, inclusion, and equal access to education for all students. The Cell ensures that students from SC/ST/OBC/Minority, economically weaker sections, persons with disabilities (PwD), and other disadvantaged groups are provided adequate academic, social, and emotional support.
The Cell functions in accordance with UGC guidelines and NAAC quality indicators.
Objectives
- ✦To ensure equal opportunities in education without discrimination
- ✦To provide support to students from disadvantaged and marginalized sections
- ✦To promote inclusive teaching–learning practices
- ✦To create awareness about government welfare schemes and scholarships
- ✦To prevent discrimination based on caste, gender, religion, disability, or socio-economic background
Functions of the Cell
- ✦To identify and address issues related to discrimination
- ✦To support students academically through remedial coaching and mentoring
- ✦To guide students about scholarships, free ships, and welfare schemes
- ✦To organize awareness programs on social justice and equality
- ✦To facilitate barrier-free access for differently-abled students
- ✦To maintain grievance records and submit reports to IQAC
Grievance Redressal Mechanism
Students can approach the Equal Opportunity Cell through:
- ✦Written complaint to the coordinator
- ✦Direct interaction during office hours
